      @JustinHowe ... or eventually sell our FrankenD&D creations to others? Sure. But also, like, "I know how to run D&D, I can just mix in XYZ," as opposed to, "Okay, learning to run [NEW THING] is going to take a certain amount of energy and time." Plus, yeah, finding interested players.

    @JustinHowe But besides laziness/inertia and being busy, I think it's also, like: well, when I discovered Pansori music, my first thought was, "Oooh, I want to borrow a bunch of those vocal techniques and figure out how to do them on baritone saxophone. That'd sound so cool..."

        @JustinHowe ... frame of reference, you know? I think we see that in RPG book reviews and discussions of system. There's always an implicit, "So how does this game resolve actions," with an unspoken, "... in comparison to the system I'm most used to?" (Which near-inevitably D&D.)
