      1. I suspect it's actually as much about bigoted attitudes toward kids as it is sexism. If you mushroom kids, you justify "controlling" them. Trad. family structures are deeply authoritarian and rely on purposefully cultivated ignorance for justification. @DynamoSuperX/1503064913291489282

      We've come some ways in at least recognizing other forms of bigotry, but with kids... sadly, they remain the least respected human beings on earth. Some people are smirk at the very idea of respecting young people at all. Presumably they were raised by authoritarian parents.

      Anyway, this moronic uproar about TURNING RED is at the intersection of bigotry toward the young + bigotry toward girls and women. Both elements seem to be in play. But, eh, "Someone is being a bigoted moron on the internet!" is a perennial observation, I suppose.
