The average nonspecialist’s sense of what “logic” means is about as nuanced as their sense of what “theory” means, and look how idiotic discussions of science (evolution, say) are.

How did evolution provide us with brains that do this kind of thinking, how do we distinguish between fundamentally inborn vs. enculturated logic “moves”, etc. But I get the sense that’s not the context in which it was asked to Ben.

But that requires the person asking it to want to find an answer, not to be an incurious shithead trying to win a fight on the internet thru bad faith argument.
