      @KateSherrod Right, there's always that possibility (and I think bad faith arguments are dirt common too), but I mean when people actually (if stupidly) believe X is crucial and then fail follow through and see that the conditions they're insisting on undercut X being possible.

    @KateSherrod I guess I am saying that I often see the failure to connect dots stemming from an apparent inability (rather than a conscious, strategic refusal) to connect the dots. Is that still a "bad faith argument"? Maybe "shortsighted" or "stupid" or "thoughtless" is the word. I dunno.
