@hondanhon I’m still in touch with lots of people I met on a mailing list in the 90s, which collapsed a certain SF author went nuts on it, many of whom migrated to another mailing list. But it’s not as much a community now, just individual relationships mediated by Facebook.Permalink On twitter.com

@hondanhon (I wonder if you about this group at the time? ;) ) The collapse of that group kind of made me leery of online communities, actually. Probably a little unfairly. Groups have life cycles and all. But this one blew up bad.On twitter.com
