        @mythopoetica I used to take it as a challenge too, but... well, most of the toxic masculinity I run into is also infused with toxic nationalism and toxic xenophobia so I more often now just shake my head and say, "We're not discussing that in my classroom."

      @mythopoetica *Sometimes* I'll go so far as to engage, but it's usually for the rest of the class, not the toxin-spewer. (They may change, but that's likely to happen on a timescale is such that it doesn't motivate me.) I am wondering how my "debate" class this semester will go. *cringe*

    @mythopoetica Note: these comments offered as commiseration, not suggestion. I have no idea how well our experiences and tactics could overlap... too many different factors in play. But yeah, I share your pain.
