  8. I was going to get my flur shot next week. Turns out that was a week too late. The flu sucks but this IV treatment the doctor gave me helped enormously. I'm back to 70% human now, as opposed to being blubbering, horrid mess a few hours ago. Still need to take it easy for now.

  9. Here's another mini-essay tied in with Isle of Joy. This one's about evoking the uncanny in RPGs. I hope it makes sense. (I have the flu and might be delirious, I'm not sure.) gordsellar.com/2023/10/19/lessons-from-the-isle-of-joy-the-uncanny-in-rpgs/

  10. Here's the third of my mini-essays on lessons I learned while writing and playtesting Isle of Joy, which is on Kickstarter now. This time, it's about, ahem, "strict time records" (and otherwise)... or, really, about time as an element in setting-building. gordsellar.com/2023/10/14/lessons-from-the-isle-of-joy-time-records-strict-and-otherwise/

  12. Another mini-essay from me in awkward sales pitch mode for the Isle of Joy Kickstarter. This one's about XP when treasure take an unconventional form in your game. Controversial, maybe, but hear me out... gordsellar.com/2023/10/11/lessons-from-the-isle-of-joy-xp-in-a-survival-game/

  13. Bought a sax mouthpiece today—great deal—from a guy living in a small village outside Cheongju. A really great, nice, friendly guy. He also amazed me by playing sax with 9.5 fingers. (He had a key attachment built onto his sax for the partly-amputated finger.)

Awkward salesman that I am, here's a little blog essay—maybe the first of a few—about stuff that came up writing/designing and playing my latest project, Isle of Joy (on Kickstarter now). gordsellar.com/2023/10/07/lessons-from-the-isle-of-joy-languages/ The project is here: kickstarter.com/projects/dragonstabber/isle-of-joy
