  1. I never really cared much about the Beatles but George Harrison's ALL THINGS MUST PASS is high on my list of great albums. I assume my mom bought it for "My Sweet Lord" but "The Ballad of Frankie Crisp" is really the highlight for me (though many tracks just sing).

      Also, I grew up with this format (triple cassette, IIRC?) and cover. It's way more "English Eerie"-looking than the cover that usually comes up for this album online. (Apparently the image was included as a poster with the LPs, which I've never even seen.)

        I do wonder what former colony's culture the countercultural Brits of this era would have coopted more heavily instead, if for whatever reason they hadn't been so gung-ho about watering down (Hindu) culture and beliefs. Burmese? West African? Native Australian? Pan-Caribbean?

          (That said, theres a long history of fascination with India in Britain so... it'd have probably taken a lot to make that happen.)
