      @mcjulie @Vylar_Kaftan (Not to downplay the fact inoculation was practised by people in the Ottoman Empire and other places when Western European doctors still considered it madness, of course. But MWM’s story is compelling for other reasons, including that she was a smallpox survivor herself.)
