@SFRuminations @JustinHowe Right, and also people just conceived of creativity in a way that didn't necessarily denigrate "derivative" work the way we sometimes do. My favorite example is how many masses used the melodies of drinking songs for a cantus firmus. So many "Missa l'homme armé" out there!On twitter.com
