    @mcjulie It seems to me like every idiot or kook these days wants some scientific grounding for their crazy ideas. I wonder if it's the same anxiety deep down that makes evangelicals so eager to prove their faith: maybe a deep-down suspicion that they've espoused drivel drives them to it?

      @mcjulie I feel the same kind of anxious, over-eager profession of faith in Norman as I do in evangelical Christians who seem bent on convincing you of their abiding faith, with a tinge of terror that you might sense they know it's all fantasy. *shrug* But that's just me.
